All about the Sourdough Bread Class & Olive Oil Tasting in Chania.

Join us to experience the process, the toil and the taste of Sourdough Bread, as our ancestors did for thousands of years, in an authentic experience taking place in the terrace of a chapel 15min from Chania city center.

A unique experience where you’ll learn the secrets of sour-dough, prepare and bake your own-unique bread loaf in a wood-fire oven, and combine it with extra-virgin olive oil tasting.

Veerna and Kostis, brothers in life and business, will warmly welcome you with a homemade refreshment or a Greek coffee.

Whilst you’re enjoying your drink and traditional homemade cookies, you will be informed about the sour-dough bread making procedure.

Firstly we mix our ingredients to prepare our dough. When the dough is ready, each of the participants will prepare his/her own bread loaf adding any extra ingredient of preference such as olives, sun-dried tomatoes, seeds etc.

Then, we let our bread loafs to rest for a while, and our participants will have a chance to visit the olive grove and learn about the olive oil harvesting process, and all the secrets of making aromatic olive oil, mixing it with herbs and spices!

Our loafs are ready for the wood-fire oven that gives an extra fragrance to our homemade bread.

A visit to our farm follows, to harvest the veggies that you will use to prepare the freshest Cretan Salad as well as some extra side dishes, like Greek fava beans and other seasonal appetizers that make the perfect pairing with our fresh baked bread.

Finally, time to get our loafs out of the oven – they smell delicious.

Enjoy your own unique bread loaf and combine it with our herb-flavoured extra-virgin olive oil and all the side dishes prepared before, accompanied by copious amounts of local wine!

Make sure you leave room for dessert! Something sweet is always offered at the very end!
